About Atelier 21 Future School

Atelier 21 is an innovative independent school for children aged 4–16, offering a fresh and forward-thinking approach to education. We believe that school should be a place where children are inspired to explore, question, create and develop a genuine love of learning, while building the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for the future.

At the heart of our school are four core values: Play, Innovation, Responsibility and Emotional Intelligence. These values shape everything we do, from the relationships we build and the subjects we teach to the way our learners approach challenges, collaborate with others and take ownership of our learning.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we recognise children as capable, curious and independent thinkers. Our unique Playoneering approach brings together purposeful play, academic learning and real-world exploration, creating experiences that are relevant, meaningful and joyful. Through our Language of Learnish, learners also develop a deeper understanding of how they think and learn, building resilience, self-awareness and independence.

Our Primary School provides strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and a broad range of subjects, while encouraging creativity, enquiry and discovery. From the age of 11, learners progress into our Upper School, where we offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) as an alternative to the traditional GCSE pathway. This internationally recognised educational framework combines academic rigour with critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning and practical application, preparing young people for an ever-changing world.

Beyond the classroom, experiences such as Wild Friday and our interdisciplinary Big Studies encourage learners to connect their education with the wider world, develop new interests and put their learning into practice.

Atelier 21 is also a centre for educational research and innovation, sharing our approaches and professional development with educators beyond our own school community. We are committed not only to providing an exceptional education for our learners, but also to contributing to positive change in education more widely.
