We are hiring and currently have a job opening for a bookkeeper to join our friendly team in Weybridge. At Atek, we pride ourselves on our personal and forward-thinking approach; therefore, the successful candidate will happily get to know their clients’ businesses inside out. This job role would suit a bookkeeper with previous practice experience who is able to work efficiently within a small but growing team in Weybridge.
About the team
The Atek team are a friendly bunch who all work to add value to every part of the business, providing our clients with a top service. The team provides compliance work, bookkeeping and value-added services, including on-going support, to ensure clients are provided with information relevant to their businesses. The new practice bookkeeper will be based in Weybridge and will report directly to the Practice Director.
What you will be doing
As one of our practice bookkeepers, you will be responsible for communicating and working directly with your assigned clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reconciliation of client bank accounts
- Preparation of accounts to TB level (including balance sheet reconciliations)
- Preparing and filing VAT returns
- Payroll and CIS preparations and submissions
- General finance duties as needed
- Manage relationships
What you bring
- You have previous bookkeeping experience within a practice environment.
- Professional qualification preferred (AAT or similar).
- You have clear verbal and written communication skills in order to retrieve and communicate specific information internally and externally.
- You have strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
Added bonus if you have experience with:
- Xero
- Dext (previously: Receipt Bank)
