- ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are retained by one of the world’s most internationally connected private banks to identify senior private banking professionals for its London office.
This is an institution with over 160 years of heritage across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East — a bank whose London presence is not a domestic operation, but a global gateway connecting the world’s most internationally mobile private clients to a truly borderless financial platform.
As part of a full-service global banking group, this institution gives private clients in London access to corporate banking, investment banking, and transaction services across dozens of markets worldwide — a level of connectivity and capability that no standalone private bank can offer.
For a senior private banker who serves international clients, this is a rare and genuinely compelling platform.
This London office is purpose-built for bankers whose clients are global.
It is not a domestic private banking operation.
It is an international hub designed specifically to serve the world’s most sophisticated, cross-border private clients — and the bankers who serve them.
THE ROLE
We are seeking senior private banking professionals at Executive Director and Managing Director level for our client’s London office.
This mandate is exclusively focused on bankers with international client books — covering any market outside of the United Kingdom.
Both individual bankers and established teams are welcomed.
Our client has open headcount and an open budget and is committed to building one of London’s most formidable international private banking teams.
- Executive Director — Minimum book size USD 300 million+; minimum ticket USD 3–5 million.
- Managing Director — Minimum book size USD 500 million+; minimum ticket USD 3–5 million.
- Client markets: international markets only — no UK domestic client books.
- Experience required: 8–10 years of private banking experience.
- Background: international private banking institutions only.
- Team hiring: welcomed — bespoke commercial arrangements available.
- Headcount & budget: open — no fixed cap.
- Bonus: fully discretionary.
- Important: candidates whose AUM is predominantly or entirely composed of UK domestic clients are not in scope for this role.
- IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- A minimum of 8–10 years’ private banking experience with an exclusively international, portable HNWI and UHNWI client book of USD 300M+ (ED) or USD 500M+ (MD).
- Coverage of any international private wealth market — Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, or other globally connected corridors accessed through London.
- Minimum client ticket size of USD 3–5 million; exclusively HNWI and UHNWI clientele throughout.
- International private banking background from a globally recognised institution — candidates from local or domestic banking backgrounds will not be considered.
- A stable career history with genuine, long-standing client relationships built on trust, discretion, and sustained bespoke advisory.
- MD-level candidates should demonstrate team leadership capability and a track record of growing franchise revenue beyond their personal book.
- Teams are actively welcomed — our client has the commercial appetite and resources to facilitate well-structured, fully supported team transitions.
- WHY THIS PLATFORM
- One of the world’s most internationally connected private banks — with an active presence spanning Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas, covering more markets than virtually any competitor.
- A rare and distinctive emerging market heritage — over 160 years of on-the-ground presence across the world’s fastest-growing wealth corridors, giving relationship managers a genuinely differentiated platform that cannot be replicated.
- Unrivalled group connectivity — as part of a full-service global banking group, private clients gain seamless access to corporate banking, investment banking, and transaction services that no pure-play private bank can offer.
- A full-spectrum wealth management platform — encompassing discretionary and advisory portfolio management, alternatives, structured products, philanthropy advisory, and comprehensive family office solutions.
- An entrepreneurial culture within a truly global institution — autonomy to manage and grow your client relationships your way, backed by world-class infrastructure, compliance frameworks, and specialist investment capabilities.
- Genuine open architecture — best-in-class solutions from across the market, not exclusively proprietary products, enabling relationship managers to deliver truly objective, client-first advice.
- Deep, generational commitment to Asia, the Middle East, and Africa — markets where this institution has built unrivalled regulatory credibility, institutional trust, and on-the-ground relationships over generations.
- An embedded team of specialists — dedicated investment counsellors, product experts, wealth planners, and family office advisors working alongside relationship managers to deliver exceptional, holistic client outcomes.
COMPENSATION
Compensation is discussed on a fully confidential basis and structured entirely around the individual — their book size, seniority, market coverage, and expectations.
Candidates are invited to share their current base salary and expectations as part of the introductory conversation.
- Base salary: open — benchmarked to your current compensation and expectations.
- Bonus: fully discretionary — uncapped for strong performers.
