We are looking for a skilled and experienced Yacht Painter to join our team in the Netherlands. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality paint and varnish finishes on luxury yachts and premium pleasure craft. This is a hands-on role that demands precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of marine painting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare yacht surfaces (hull, superstructure, decks, interiors) through sanding, fairing, masking, and priming
- Apply high-performance marine paints, varnishes, and specialized coatings (Awlgrip, International, Alexseal, etc.)
- Perform spray painting, brush & roller application, and detailed finishing work
- Carry out hull repaints, touch-ups, antifouling applications, and superstructure coatings
- Mix paints accurately to match colours and ensure consistent finishes
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all health & safety procedures
- Work closely with the refit team, carpenters, and project managers to meet tight deadlines
- Inspect and ensure all painted surfaces meet the highest luxury yacht standards
Requirements & Experience
- Proven experience as a Yacht Painter or Marine Painter (minimum 3–5 years)
- Strong portfolio or references demonstrating high-quality work on yachts (10m – 100m+)
- Excellent skills in surface preparation, fairing, and achieving flawless finishes
- In-depth knowledge of marine paint systems, products, and application techniques
- Experience with both spray painting and brush/roller techniques
- Ability to work at height, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions
- Valid work permits/visas (if applicable) and willingness to travel if required
- Health & Safety awareness (CSCS card, IPAF, or equivalent is a plus)
Desirable Skills
- Experience with superyacht refits and new builds
- Knowledge of osmosis treatment and gelcoat restoration
- Ability to work with carbon fibre, composite materials, and teak decks
- Basic understanding of yacht systems and structures
- Team player with good communication skills
