The role will offer the successful candidate significant responsibility and great opportunities for personal and professional development. The Transport Manager maintains and oversees the company’s fleet and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional. The manager schedules routine maintenance, plans new projects, and performs emergency repairs. The incumbent reports to the Transport Operation Manager on fleet‑related reports based in Dublin.

Requirements

  • Maintenance, safety and management tasks that promote a secured, clean, and safe working environment for all employees, including:
  • Service & Delivery Performance
  • Own transport OTIF / SLA performance, including dock‑time adherence for strategic customers (e.g. hyperscalers)
  • Ensure zero‑defect execution: right vehicle, right driver, right documentation, right time
  • Lead service recovery during disruptions and ensure clear escalation and communication
  • Transport Planning & Execution
    • Oversee daily and tactical transport planning and execution
    • Ensure plan stability and minimal last‑minute re‑planning
    • Partner with the Control Tower to enable exception‑led, predictive execution
    • Ensure capacity is aligned to forecast and program ramps
  • Cost & Network Efficiency
    • Manage transport cost vs budget (cost per unit / km / trip)
    • Reduce premium freight, expediting, and unplanned spending
    • Drive network, routing, and load optimisation initiatives
    • Validate savings and cost avoidance with Finance
  • Safety, Compliance & Risk
    • Ensure full compliance with transport regulations (HOS, tachograph, vehicle inspections)
    • Own safety performance and accident reduction
    • Ensure cargo security and site‑specific compliance for high‑value loads
    • Act as escalation owner for serious incidents
  • Fleet & Driver Operations (Direct or Matrix)
    • Ensure fleet availability, roadworthiness, and readiness
    • Ensure driver availability, attendance, and capability
    • Align fleet and driver readiness to peak and program demand
    • Work closely with Fleet and Driver Managers to resolve systemic issues
  • Vendor & Carrier Management
    • Manage carrier and subcontractor performance
    • Ensure vendor SLA, safety, and security compliance
    • Support sourcing, onboarding, and performance reviews of transport partners
  • Continuous Improvement & Digital Enablement
    • Drive process improvement across planning, execution, and reporting
    • Support adoption of TMS, telematics, and Control Tower tools
    • Reduce manual workarounds and improve data quality
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead and develop transport teams
    • Build strong relationships with Operations, Planning, Security, and Customer teams
    • Act as the senior transport point of contact for escalations

    About You

    • Ability to be flexible in respect of work standards and demands.
    • Capable of working under pressure and to strict deadlines.
    • Proven ability to complete tasks.
    • Resilient and able to deal with changing priorities.
    • Previous operational experience of Fleet in a logistics environment.
    • Minimum of 5‑10 years’ experience in a similar role.
    • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Time‑management skills with the competence to manage multiple priorities at once.
    • Proficient with MS Office skills.
    • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work to strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
