This Role
The Data Centre Installer (DCI) Apprentice will work as part of a team which will support the installation & testing, of network cabling infrastructure within data centres and other high-security environments. Working closely with experienced Data Centre Installers & Technicians, you’ll gain hands-on experience and technical knowledge to become a skilled DCI
The Data Centre Installer Apprentice is linked to the Network Cable Installer run in conjunction with the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals (ITP). This is a 12 month apprenticeship, comprising of a 1-day (per week) release to a 3rd Level institution during normal college semesters, leading to a Level 3 Network Cable Installer Certificate. The Data Centre Installer Apprentice will assist in the physical deployment of IT infrastructure within data centres. This includes the secure transportation, installation, relocation, and maintenance of network cabling and data racks. You’ll work under the supervision of experienced engineers to develop skills in structured cabling, technical handling, and site safety while contributing to real-world infrastructure projects.
Role Requirements & Responsibilities
The DCI Apprentice will rotate through areas and functions of the business in a structured way to develop their skills across the business. Areas of expertise and responsibility will include:
Deliver, install, and move data racks and associated equipment within client premises
Assist in installing copper and fibre optic network cabling to industry standards
Follow health and safety protocols on high-security and controlled sites
Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and materials used
Participate in team briefings, project planning and debriefs
Represent ATC Logistics professionally with clients and contractors
Candidate Requirements
Ability to be flexible in respect of work standards and demands. Capable of working under pressure at times and to strict deadlines. Ability to complete tasks. Resilient and able to deal with changing priorities. The successful candidate will be required to possess and demonstrate:
· A strong willingness to learn, document control & record keeping.
· Can follow instructions and standard operating procedures
· Be passionate about delivering superior customer service.
· Learn how to operate in a fast-paced white glove service provider – serving world class global tech companies.
· Be results driven, with a “can-do” attitude.
· Display strong written and verbal communication skills – English language is a must.
The following qualifications, skills and experience would be an advantage.
· Proficient knowledge of a European language.
· Experience of MS office suite
· Academic qualifications in logistic

· Upon completion apprentices will be awarded a Level 3 Network Cabling Installer Qualification from Pearson Level 4
