Role Description

To be responsible for providing Tenders for new business opportunities across the globe, co-ordinating and compiling technical clarifications to ensure the product offered meets the customers' requirements. Work with the Global Quotation Team to promote the Laurence Scott and Morley brand and to assist in the selling of product to our Customers. To fully comply with the company Management Systems, incorporating Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Tenders following receipt of customers request for quotation
  • Read and review customers technical specification and commercial requirements
  • Produce cost estimates using internal costing system
  • Support customers with detailed technical clarifications on submitted bids.
  • Communicate with Customers and Original Equipment Manufacturers.
  • Liaise with Internal Engineering teams to ensure any technical clarifications are answered effectively and correctly
  • Carry out other tasks as may be reasonably requested by Line Manager, that are within the role holder's ability

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • GCSE Grade C or above in English & Maths (or equivalent)
  • Desirable - Degree qualified in Engineering or similar applicable field
  • Desirable - Have an understanding of Rotating Electrical Machines
  • Desirable - Have experience of working within an engineering manufacturing environment
  • Desirable - Have some relevant experience in a similar commercial role

Skills and Competency Requirements

  • Good communication skills at all levels of the business, with good written and verbal communication and well developed interpersonal skills
  • Possess good organisational skills with a genuine ability to multi task.
  • Have good time management skills coupled with the ability to effectively prioritise
  • Desirable - Have the self-confidence to challenge colleagues in an appropriate manner when necessary.
