£55,000 – £60,000 + 5% bonus, days only, 10% pension, 33 days holiday
The Company
We are supporting a major manufacturer of construction materials, providing concrete products into the house building, building merchant, and rail industry. With more than 10 UK sites providing concrete products, they have expanded over the last 5 years through acquisitions and are now positioned for further investment.
The Kent production facility is the largest concrete product manufacturer in the business, producing 32,000 tonnes and £10 million per year. This site is preparing for extension, with 2 additional production beds and automated equipment due to be installed.
As part of their succession planning strategy, they are hiring a Production Manager with immediate effect.
The Role
The role of Production Manager provides the unique opportunity to immediately enter a succession plan for the Factory Manager. Initially taking responsibility for a team of 40 with 3 supervisors in production, this role will ultimately progress to full oversite of the facility. Initially, the Production Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing 40+ operatives, creating plans for structured development across the team and motivating them toward target achievement
- Supporting and mentoring 3 production supervisors, running daily production meetings to ensure delivery of objectives
- Monitoring agency spend, overtime, and absences across the team to ensure production meets budget requirements
- Procurement of materials, goods and services as required within a production environment
- Working cross-departmentally, particularly with engineering and projects, to achieve company objectives
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Production Manager role you will need:
- Demonstratable experience managing a team of 30+ heads in a manufacturing environment
- A strong character, good at building and motivating teams to meet performance requirements
- Experience operating cross-departmentally, with familiarity relationship building with senior leaders
- Aspirations to progress into a factory leadership position in the near future
The Benefits

- £55,000 – £60,000 base salary
