The Company
Our client delivers critical electrical infrastructure for sectors including data centres and hospitals. With six manufacturing facilities and all design, test, manufacture and installation carried out in-house, they have built a reputation for delivering complex solutions to major projects nationwide. The business is experiencing strong growth, supported by long-term project wins and a robust order book. As a result, they are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor with immediate effect.
The Role
The role of Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from award through to final account, ensuring effective cost control, risk management, and contract administration. Working closely with project delivery teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors, you will play a key role in maintaining profitability and supporting the successful delivery of projects.
- Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from award through to final account, ensuring profitability and effective cost control.
- Administer contracts, negotiate and manage subcontract agreements, and support pre-contract discussions with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment, interim valuations, variations, final accounts, and subcontractor payment assessments.
- Monitor project financial performance through cash flow forecasting, monthly WIP reporting, and commercial reporting.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, including liability management and dispute resolution.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and relevant industry standards.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this role you will need:
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or a recognised Quantity Surveying qualification.
- Experience within a project-based environment, ideally delivering engineering or technical projects.
- A sound understanding of project commercial management, including cost control, valuations, variations, risk management, and contract administration.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
