Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

Salary: £53,800 + Overtime

Location: Hemsworth - commutable from South Kirby, Pontefract, Barnsley, Rotherham, and other Wakefield surroundings

Shift pattern: 12 hours, 3 on 3 off days and nights

Holidays: 20 days

The Company:

ATA have partnered with a well-established family run business, who have been operating for over 100 years supplying to some of the biggest names in the retail sector. As the maintenance engineer, you will be working on fully automated kit at their main head office site in Wakefield. They are looking for a maintenance engineer who is versatile, flexible to accommodate seasonal working hours, and is a methodical thinker and doer when it comes to diagnosing and fault finding on various machinery and components. You will work alongside a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers on conveyors, baggers, palletisers, and much more.

The Role:

As the maintenance engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting planned and preventive maintenance on automated and complex machinery
  • Fault finding primarily on mechanical components including bearings, shafts, gearboxes, rollers, and much more
  • Maintain levels of critical spares
  • Fabricate/make parts with a bit of welding, use of lathes, etc.

Requirements:

As the maintenance engineer, our client requires:

  • NVQ level 3 apprenticeship (or equivalent) in engineering ideally in mechanical engineering
  • Good understanding of fault finding both mechanically and electrically
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working within an automated factory is highly advantageous but not essential
