A UK engineering manufacturing company based in West Yorkshire is looking to recruit experienced Assembly Fitter / Welder Fabricators to join their production team on a temporary to permanent basis due to continued growth and an increase in workload.

As an Assembly Fitter / Welder your key duties will include:

  • Reading and working from technical engineering and fabrication drawings
  • Assembling bespoke mechanical components and machine sections
  • Building and installing pneumatic and general pipework systems
  • Welding on all supporting steel structures and sheet metal fabrications to a high standard using MIG, in line with company processes and procedures
  • Checking parts against bill of materials (BOMs) for accuracy and condition
  • Carrying out quality inspections to ensure assemblies meet required tolerances

The successful Assembly Fitter / Welder Fabricator will have the following attributes:

  • Completed a Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship / NVQ or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar mechanical fitting and fabrication role
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
  • Understanding of welding symbols and processes
  • Experience in structural fabrication and working with large assemblies to tight tolerances
  • Confident using a wide range of hand and air tools
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
