Maintenance Engineer – £51,000+ | Days & Nights | Every Other Long Weekend Off Location: Leicestershire Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts on a 5,5,4 rotating days and nights pattern – giving you every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. Salary: Minimum £50,000, with realistic OTE of £55,000–£60,000 thanks to overtime (paid at 1.5x and 2x) and bonuses. Generous 10% pension, plus other site-specific benefits. The Opportunity We are recruiting for a maintenance engineer to join a large, well-invested site that forms part of a nationally recognised group. This is a high-performing facility with state-of-the-art machinery and an experienced engineering team. You’ll benefit from an excellent rota that allows for regular long weekends off while earning a strong base salary and enjoying long-term job security. The Role As a maintenance engineer, you’ll work with a range of heavy-duty automated machinery including: Large mixers and slicers Conveyors, silos, and hoppers Kilns, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems Your focus will be 70% reactive and 30% PPM, using a tablet system for job tracking. While multi-skilled competency is key, this role places a strong emphasis on mechanical maintenance and repair. You’ll need to be confident working with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and chains. Fabrication and welding experience is a plus. The Person We’re Looking For To succeed in this role as a maintenance engineer, you’ll need: A strong background in mechanical maintenance within industrial or manufacturing environments Experience working on gearboxes, motors, belts, pulleys, hydraulics, and pneumatics Confidence with strip-downs, rebuilds, and reactive mechanical fault diagnosis An NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in engineering (ex-Forces welcome) A proactive attitude and flexibility for overtime and development This is an ideal role for a maintenance engineer who wants to develop their career in a stable, well-backed facility with real progression and training opportunities.
