Our client is looking for an experienced professional to take a lead role in managing the full design process—from initial concept through to final delivery. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects within a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment. You will use tools like CAD and advanced engineering software to validate calculations, support testing, and oversee project execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction at every stage.
What Our Client is Looking For:
- A hands-on background in fabrication and structural engineering
- Proficiency in engineering calculations – using Mathcad, Excel, and hand calculations
- Expertise in acoustics, airflow, and thermal systems
- Experience with both large and small companies, showcasing adaptability
- Strong ability in structural stress calculations and understanding of mechanical systems specifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret complex client specifications and develop concept mechanical designs using Inventor
- Perform and validate calculations for structural loadings, ducting, airflow, and offshore environmental forces (pitch, roll, heave)
- Lead engineering analysis for cost and weight reduction, and improve design for manufacture
- Liaise with multiple teams, supporting and reviewing engineering work
- Engage in and lead technical design reviews
Requirements:
- Solid Mechanical Engineering background with a proven track record in heavy/large-scale structural fabrication
- Proficient in Mathcad and hand calculations
- Experience using Inventor or similar 3D modelling software e.g. Solidworks
- Strong grasp of acoustic, thermal, and airflow engineering principles
- Client-focused with excellent technical judgement and team collaboration skills
- Engineering qualification
