We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on behalf of a market-leading, well-established engineering company based in the North West. This is a long-term, stable opportunity with a business that invests heavily in its people, equipment, and future growth.
The Role
- Mechanical fitting and maintenance across multiple sites in the North West
- Sites are located close together, minimising travel
- Home-based role with travel directly to site
- 45-hour working week (40 hours on site, 5 hours travel)
- Strong mechanical bias with some electrical and welding work
Mechanical Responsibilities
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs)
- Reactive maintenance and breakdowns
- Mechanical fault finding and repairs
- Strip downs and rebuilds of machinery and plant
- Mechanical installations and removals
- Welding duties including MIG, TIG, and Stick
- Supporting basic electrical work where required
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter
- Strong mechanical background with basic electrical knowledge
- Welding experience (MIG / TIG / Stick)
- Experience with PPMs and reactive maintenance
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable covering multiple local sites
Package & Benefits
- Salary: Β£55,000 β Β£60,000 (depending on experience)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
