Maintenance Engineer Salary: £53,000 including shift allowance + excellent benefits 4-on, 4-off Days & Nights Magor, South Wales Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a role where you can develop your technical skills, take ownership of engineering improvements and build a long-term career with a global business? If so we have an excellent opportunity to join the team at the highly automated distribution facility of world’s largest FMCG companies The Role You’ll join a team of experienced Maintenance Engineers working on a wide range of automated material-handling equipment, including: Automated cranes Roller and chain conveyors Lift tables Rotation tables Shuttle cars Motors and gearboxes Sensors and control panels The role is approximately 75% planned preventative and 25% reactive maintenance, giving you the opportunity to work proactively while still getting involved in hands-on fault finding on a range of mechanical and electrical components across the site What You'll Be Doing Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across highly automated equipment Responding to reactive breakdowns and carrying out effective fault finding Working across both electrical and mechanical systems Inspecting, cleaning and lubricating mechanical components Diagnosing faults involving motors, sensors, control panels and conveyors Working with chains, sprockets, bearings and gearboxes Carrying out basic PLC diagnostics and checking I/O on Siemens S7 systems Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives Supporting root cause analysis and helping to prevent repeat failures Working closely with operators to maintain equipment reliability What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is confident working in an automated environment and enjoys getting hands-on with both electrical and mechanical equipment. You'll ideally have: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent At least 2 years' experience working in an automated environment Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills An understanding of PLCs, ideally Siemens S7 A genuine passion for engineering and continuous improvement Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to belong, develop and make an impact within the team.
