Our client is a leading manufacturer of small machinery, mainly for the scientific and pharmaceutical industry. Operating for over 40 years, this business has expanded both by joining a wider group of businesses, and through mergers with similar local businesses. They now have a team of 30 producing £3 million from this business alone.
They are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer with immediate effect.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will operate as the sole designer for this business, overseeing all projects coming through the business from initial scoping through to manufacture. This role also provides the unique opportunity to learn and oversee small amounts of electrical design work. The role of Mechanical Design Engineer will involve:
- Designing standard and bespoke small machinery on Autodesk Inventor
- Working with products consisting of sheet metal, pipework, pumps, brackets and supports
- Producing manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and job packs
- Providing technical support to sales engineers during the sales process
- Involvement in prototyping and design amendments
