Contract: Temporary to Permanent (after 13 weeks)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am β 5:00pm

We are recruiting for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established UK manufacturer specialising in high-quality bespoke equipment. Supplying premium products to corporate clients and professional organisations, our client combines engineering precision, craftsmanship, and innovative design to deliver exceptional tailor-made installations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical fitting experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive business offering long-term progression.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter:
- Assembly & Production: Assemble bespoke products in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. Use hand tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machinery to build frames, panels, and components. Complete sub-assemblies and ensure all work is produced to a high-quality standard.
- Quality Control & Packing: Inspect completed products for accuracy, finish, and any defects. Verify assemblies against technical drawings and quality requirements. Carefully package and wrap finished products to ensure safe transportation.
- Driving & Deliveries: Travel between the St Albans and Kent sites, typically 1β2 times per week. Load and unload products safely and efficiently. Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the company vehicle. Ensure deliveries are completed professionally and on schedule.
About You:
- Previous experience in a Mechanical Fitter or similar assembly role.
- A practical, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop long term.
- The ability to undertake manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 25kg.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
