The company:
Our client is an EPC business specialising in the design and manufacturing of products used within the aluminium processing industry. They design a range of catalogue products and machines as well as offering a turnkey solution for large factory installations. These products are often used within the recycling and manufacturing industries. They currently employ 90 members of staff within the UK and have experienced a turnover of over £30 million in the last year and have been established for more than 40 years in the UK. As a business, they are experiencing growth and a consistent large volume of incoming projects globally across Europe, Canada and the Middle East, with upcoming projects ranging from £8-10 Million in value.
The Role:
We are looking for a detail-driven and dependable Logistics Coordinator with a strong background in international freight and shipping. This role is critical to ensuring smooth supply chain operations, accurate documentation, and on-time deliveries for complex engineering projects. You will be joining a close-knit supply chain team of 4, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager and working closely with purchasing and costing teams to ensure all transport and shipping processes are well-executed.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Arranging and managing international freight and shipping
- Preparing and verifying customs documentation
- Planning around potential delays, including customs hold-ups
- Coordinating with freight forwarders and shipping providers
- Ensuring correct commodity codes and country of origin information
- Organising container shipments and verifying load capacity
- Providing shipping cost information to support sales quotes and tenders
- Attending internal project meetings
- Supporting purchasing and costing functions with logistics input
- Using Excel and Sage 200 for logistics tracking
Qualifications and Experience:
- Background in international transport and logistics
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Experience with international shipping and customs compliance
- Highly accurate with documentation and regulatory details
- Strong communicator, both internally and externally
- Self-motivated and reliable, with a proactive mindset
The Benefits:
