The Company: We are currently recruiting on behalf of a global systems integrator which operates across a vast array of countries and industries. They have achieved exponential growth over the past 5 years and have a UK turnover of above £100 million. On this site based in Castle Donnington, in the 5 years since its opening there has been over £90 million invested and it has seen itself double in size in terms of order volume from 20,000 to 40,000 per day.
With the growth and development in recent years, a Senior Maintenance Engineer is now required to join their skilled team to act as a right-hand person to the Maintenance Team Leader – providing senior support across the team/shift when they are out of the business or unavailable. This could include appraisals, support with hiring and holiday cover/delegation of maintenance tasks. This position really is the starting point of a career within this giant and anyone from a strong Maintenance background who is looking to move up and start their journey into man management is actively encouraged to apply.
The Role: As a Senior Maintenance Engineer your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the day to day management of 4 Maintenance Engineers
- Working to KPIs across the site
- Providing mentorship, guidance and training of the wider team
- Supporting shift hand overs; identifying and analysing previous issues and noticing patterns, escalating where necessary for more long term solutions utilising CMMS
- Some hands-on Maintenance work when required
- Element of hands on – this will include both electrical and mechanical work
- Using various state-of-the-art brand-new Automated machinery including Conveyors, Automated Cranes, Strappers, Shuttled, Box Making Machines, Robotic Systems
The Candidate: I am looking for a competent Engineer for my client that has very good communication skills face-to-face, over the radio and over email. Ideally, the successful Senior Maintenance Engineer will have previous experience looking after a team or working within a leadership/mentorship position – with a keen desire to progress further into a management role. You will need a recognised engineering qualification. I am looking for someone that will be able to perform in potential high-pressure scenarios and work with their team in intense environments. We are looking for an Engineer that is outgoing with the customer and understands their proposed changes for the better of the company.
