The role of Maintenance Supervisor will function in two parts as both a hands-on electrically biased Maintenance Engineer and as a support system for the Head of Engineering; therefore, experience leading Maintenance Engineers is important.
What you'll be doing
As Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll be working across 2 manufacturing sites (within 5 miles of each other). You’ll be responsible for supporting the Head of Engineering with leadership, direction, and technical oversight for engineering teams across manufacturing sites. As this is both a hands-on and supervisory role, strong electrical maintenance skills are a prerequisite.
- Support, mentor, and develop site engineering and apprentices (currently 2 Engineers + 1 Apprentice).
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices across both sites.
- Drive a proactive engineering culture focused on safety, reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Help to develop competency frameworks for engineering personnel.
- Support site leadership teams in delivering business objectives and engineering KPIs.
- Provide engineering support and strategic guidance to site management teams.
- Ensure engineering resources are effectively deployed across sites to support operational requirements.
Technical skills required:
- PLC fault finding experience with solid electrical fault finding and LOTO experience.
What we're looking for
The successful Maintenance Supervisor will need to have:
- Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
- Be a strong communicator and work well under time constraints/pressure.
- Previous experience of managing and leading a team of Engineers within a maintenance function.
- Strong fault-finding skills on automated machinery.
- Ideally food background.
- Desire to move into a more Senior Management role would be beneficial.
