We’re looking for a Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer to become the technical authority across multiple UK sites, acting as the go-to person for all EC&I matters and freeing up senior management time. This Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer role offers a mix of strategy, compliance, leadership and hands-on technical support, with real influence over safety, reliability and future investment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the EC&I strategy across several sites
- Provide expert support on HV/LV systems, control upgrades and automation
- Lead electrical compliance, audits and statutory testing (PAT, ECIR, HV, fixed earth)
- Manage firmware/software upgrades and obsolescence
- Support breakdowns, PPMs and continuous improvement activity
- Lead, mentor and technically support engineers and apprentices
- Advise on CAPEX projects, infrastructure upgrades and new investments
- Liaise with OEMs, vendors and programmers on EC&I integration
Regular travel to a UK site is required (hotel provided).
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ experience in electrical & controls engineering within manufacturing or heavy processing
- Strong knowledge of DSEAR, ATEX, PUWER, CDM and functional safety
- Experience with machine safety, control panels and PLC-based systems
- Ability to support both reactive faults and planned maintenance
- Confidence leading people and influencing technical decisions
- Degree preferred (HND + experience considered). Formal safety qualifications beneficial.
