The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of a skilled engineering team alongside other engineers, a team leader, and an apprentice
  • Carrying out mechanical fault finding and maintenance on equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, rolling mills, and associated machinery
  • Responding to breakdowns efficiently while also following a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule to minimise downtime
  • Supporting installation work, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects across the site
  • Contributing ideas and improvements to help drive site performance and operational efficiency
  • Developing into a potential Team Leader position, with opportunities to take on greater responsibility within projects and site development initiatives

The Candidate

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A recognised engineering qualification
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills, with electrical knowledge including work on three-phase motors
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • A proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ambition to progress into a leadership role in the future
