Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer looking to join a modern, highly automated manufacturing site where you can develop your skills and make a real impact? We’re working with a well-established and rapidly growing snack food manufacturer supplying major supermarkets. The business has invested heavily in high-end production equipment and is now looking to strengthen its engineering team with a skilled Maintenance Engineer.

The Opportunity

This is a genuinely hands-on, multi-skilled engineering role working across a wide range of modern production and packaging machinery. A significant part of the role will involve fault finding and resolving process-related issues, as well as planned and reactive maintenance.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance across the site.
  • Fault finding on automated production and packaging equipment.
  • Working on mixers, sealers, ovens, bagging machines and flow wrappers.
  • Maintaining robotic cutters, labellers, X-ray equipment and conveyors.
  • Working on cartonning and other automated packaging machinery.
  • Diagnosing electrical faults involving sensors, relays, contactors, servo systems, three-phase motors, AC equipment, power supplies and inverters.
  • Carrying out mechanical maintenance including bearings, gearboxes, shafts, rollers, belts, pneumatics, pulleys and chains.
  • Using a multimeter and electrical test equipment to diagnose faults.
  • Fault finding on Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC-controlled equipment, primarily through I/O checks.
  • Completing PPMs and contributing to ongoing improvements across the plant.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' experience within an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability.
  • Experience fault finding on automated machinery.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to continue developing your technical skills.
