This company is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Adviser / Consultant to support ambitious manufacturing and engineering businesses across the Cambridge and Ipswich region. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing professional who enjoys working directly with business leaders to identify improvement opportunities, increase productivity, optimise processes and deliver measurable operational improvements.
About the Role
Working with a portfolio of manufacturing SMEs, you will help businesses improve operational performance through practical, commercially focused advice and implementation support. You will work closely with senior leadership teams, operations managers and production teams to identify challenges, develop improvement plans and support delivery of sustainable change.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct manufacturing and operational performance reviews
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability
- Analyse production processes and workflows
- Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- Improve capacity planning, scheduling and resource utilisation
- Reduce waste, downtime and operational bottlenecks
- Support quality improvement and operational excellence programmes
- Coach and mentor business leaders and operational teams
- Deliver measurable improvements against agreed KPIs
What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience
- Proven experience within manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments
- Track record of delivering measurable productivity improvements
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to analyse operational performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Comfortable working independently across multiple client sites
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the Cambridge and Ipswich region
