An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Manager to join our growing client who is one of the largest UK manufacturing businesses. They are in the process of opening a brand-new facility and looking for an Engineering Manager to join them on their journey.

The company, which turns over £400 million per annum, has over 30 manufacturing sites across the UK. This company is a true leader in their field, offering excellent employee benefits, fantastic training, and a great team to work with.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • The development and promotion through effective communication of Company, Factory and Team plans and their focused implementation to achieve defined objectives.
  • People Management, motivation and structured development of the team through performance review to ensure delivery of objectives through team working.
  • Provision of engineering and technical expertise to facilitate the rigorous application of IMS tools and techniques to generate Continuous Improvement across all areas of the manufacturing capability.
  • Managing a team of 20 plus engineers, Team leaders and engineering shift managers.
  • Analysis of data from the system.
  • Root Cause Analysis.
  • Identification of areas of improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement.
  • Implementation of LEAN manufacturing principles from above analysis.
  • Oversee installation and upgrade projects.
  • Ensure all contractors have Work Permits.
  • Running of appraisals, 1-2-1s & recruitment.
  • Staff Training.
  • H&S Compliance within the Engineering Department.
  • Running Management Meetings.
  • Compiling reports for Senior Managers on OEE, PPMs, Breakdowns and Improvements.

The business's key drive across all their sites at present is efficiency. As such, they ideally are looking for candidates who can bring their knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques into the business and help bring further positive change.

To be successful as an Engineering Manager, you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

  • Must have previous experience working as an Engineering Manager or maintenance manager.
  • Must have come from an Automated or semi-automated Production Environment.
  • Must have a recognised Engineering Qualification.

Salary - £75,000. The company will consider candidates who are interested in further leadership roles in the future. Excellent training available including OEM qualification and formal qualifications.
