ATA Recruitment is working in partnership with a major UK manufacturing group to recruit an Engineering Manager for their brand-new, flagship site in Leicestershire. With roots dating back to the 1960s, this organisation is steeped in British manufacturing heritage. Employing over 2,000 people across 15 sites nationwide, they produce some of the UK's most well-known and much-loved products. This new facility marks a significant investment in the future of UK manufacturing. Boasting state-of-the-art equipment and technology unseen anywhere else in the country, it’s set to become Europe’s highest-output factory of its kind once fully operational.
As an Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the success of this cutting-edge operation from the ground up.
About the role
As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for:
- Directing and leading all maintenance activities across a large-scale 24/7 manufacturing operation with full accountability for the whole engineering function.
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
- Support capital investment planning by assessing asset condition and lifecycle.
- Coach, develop, and appraise team members to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Recruitment, 1-2-1’s, Appraisals, Disciplinaries, Recruitment, and Training & Development.
- Plan and coordinate engineering projects, including equipment installations, upgrades, and refurbishments.
- Monitor and control maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company standards, and legal requirements.
- Managing the site's continuous improvement and root cause analysis projects.
- Ensure all Engineers adhere to H&S Policies and Safe Working Practices.
About you
Due to the nature of the site, we are looking for an engineering manager who has strong leadership & communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire their employees.
- Previous experience working within an engineering management capacity.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering functions.
- Experience managing large engineering budgets, both OPEX & CAPEX.
- Experience within manufacturing is essential.
- Experience leading LEAN, root cause and CI tasks.
- Great relationship building skills.
