This business specialises in designing and manufacturing mechanical machines used worldwide. With in-house capabilities for design, manufacturing, and testing, they produce a variety of testing machinery, ranging from materials testing equipment to aerodynamics and fluid mechanics systems.
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Design Engineer to join their engineering team, reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer. The focus of this role is on hardware (80%) with a smaller element of firmware development (20%), and the successful candidate will work on a range of exciting projects including new product development and modernising existing product lines.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong electronics background who enjoys working in a supportive environment where ideas and innovation are encouraged.
- Full design lifecycle work: schematic capture, hardware design, PCB layout, and testing.
- Designing and developing electronic systems including ADC conversion, USB interfaces, SPI communication, thermal couplings, and signal conditioning.
- Collaborating with mechanical engineers on concept development.
- Modernising existing products with updated electronics solutions.
- Occasional firmware development and updates (training available if required).
- Using KiCAD for design work (bonus for experience with ESP32 or PIC microcontrollers).
An experienced Electronics Engineer with at least 5 years' experience in a design role. Strong hands-on experience across the full design and test process of analogue and digital electronics. Someone who is wanting to be the “go-to” person for all things electronics in the business.
- Proficiency with schematic capture, PCB layout, and electronic hardware testing.
Competitive Salary Package of up to £45,000 depending on experience.
Hybrid working up to 2 days from home for the right candidate.
