Electrical Design Engineer
Leicestershire
Salary: £42,000 – 50,000
Working hours: 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday (Flexible hours late start/early finish)
The Company:
Our client is a leading manufacturer of cooling systems in the UK used within Laboratories, high end laser cutting machines, and semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
As an employer they have 30 staff members in total across there onsite manufacturing facility including both Engineers and back-office support team. They are owned by a larger group with a revenue of £68 Million.
They are currently undergoing the process of expanding their premises, and acquiring an additional business, as such they are growing the team to allow for additional workload and increased efficiency so are looking for an engineer to join the team and become the “go to” engineer for electrical design, research and development.
The Role:
We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to support the team with their Electrical expertise. As the Primary Electrical expert, you will be reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. You will play a critical role in advising on electrical drawings, creating new electrical schematics, and updating outdated designs. You will also be involved in hands-on testing, creating test reports, and ensuring compliance with design standards.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Advising on electrical drawings and redesigning product ranges
- 50% Electrical design, 20% electrical testing and 30% electrical documentation/administration
- Creating and updating electrical schematics
- Hands-on testing with test rigs and creating test reports
- Specifying components
- Ensuring design compliance
Qualifications and experience:
- Degree/HND level or equivalent qualification in an Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years\’ experience in a similar position
- Experienced with AutoCAD Electrical or similar package
- Previous experience with electrical testing
- Good communicator with a positive ‘can-do\’ attitude
- Independent and confident in your abilities
