AutoCAD / 2D Draughting
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in West Yorkshire. Our client is an established engineering and manufacturing business, designing and manufacturing specialist equipment for a range of high-profile industries. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking for an experienced 2D AutoCAD Draughtsperson to join their team on a contract basis.
As a 2D AutoCAD Draughtsman your key duties will include:
- Producing 2D general arrangement drawings of specialist units, working from a 60% complete drawing generated by the company's estimating software
- Refining and developing drawing detail in accordance with design guidelines and feedback from the engineering team, to a standard suitable for customer approval submission
- Populating component and material specifications within template borders
- Engaging with engineering, production and project management departments to obtain internal sign-off before completing drawings
- Ensuring all drawings are produced accurately and within agreed timescales
The successful 2D AutoCAD Draughtsman will have the following attributes:
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D - confident working from part‑complete drawings and developing them to a finished standard
- Previous experience in a similar draughting role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret design guidelines and engineering feedback
- Good communication skills with the ability to liaise across multiple internal departments
