We are seeking an experienced Commissioning & Test Lead to take ownership of on-site testing activities for a large-scale automated material handling system in Coalville, Leicestershire. You will lead Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), performance testing, and system validation to ensure the solution meets design specifications and required throughput. There is already a strong team on site and a long-term pipeline of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), completion, and performance testing
  • Validate system flow across PLC, WMS/WCS, and controls integration
  • Manage and drive resolution of defect/punch lists (e.g. Jira)
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and issue resolution with engineering teams
  • Conduct volume and stress testing to identify bottlenecks and failures
  • Provide daily progress updates to project leadership
  • Support client testing and acceptance activities

Requirements

  • Strong background in automation or material handling commissioning
  • Experience with conveyors, cranes, shuttles, or ASRS systems
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and integration testing (WMS/WCS/SCADA beneficial)
  • Experience leading testing phases on site
  • Ability to manage defects, troubleshooting, and system validation
  • ECS card required
