Welder/Fitter Location: Widnes

Salary: £42,000 – £43,000 per year + Performance-Based Pay Rises

Shifts: Monday to Friday – Double Days (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm)

The Role

As part of the maintenance engineering team, you'll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Repairing and maintaining mechanical systems such as pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Welding and fabricating (MIG & Stick) components and parts for plant machinery – welding is a significant part of this role
  • Setting up, aligning, and assembling machinery, moulds, and tampers with precision
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Welding
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and fitting
  • Must be a competent welder – MIG & Stick welding are essential and form a large portion of this role
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is an advantage
  • Proactive, adaptable, and a strong team player with a focus on quality and safety
