We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a market-leading automation and logistics business operating within a highly automated distribution environment. This organisation is a well-established international engineering business that continues to experience sustained growth year on year. They provide automated material handling and warehouse solutions to some of the UK's most recognisable retail and e-commerce brands. Their facilities utilise a range of advanced automation technologies including shuttle systems, robotics, automated storage solutions, conveyors, and high-speed material handling equipment.
The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of automated equipment.
- Maintaining and fault-finding on conveyors, automated storage systems, robotics, and associated machinery.
- Replacing and repairing mechanical components including bearings, rollers, pulleys, belts, and pneumatic equipment.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults using electrical drawings and testing equipment.
- Utilising a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to record maintenance activities and manage workloads.
- Completing mechanical and electrical component replacements and assisting with equipment rebuilds where required.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
The Person
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A recognised engineering qualification.
- Previous maintenance experience within manufacturing, production, distribution, logistics, or automated warehousing environments.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
- Ex-forces engineers (Navy, Army, RAF) are encouraged to apply.
