Shift Pattern: Tuesday – Saturday 6pm-2am

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Shift Manager to join a leading UK food manufacturing business operating within a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and people-focused leader to take responsibility for driving operational performance, delivering production targets, and developing high-performing teams within a modern manufacturing facility.

The Role

As Production Shift Manager, you will lead and manage production operations across your shift, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production plans while maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing production teams to achieve operational targets and business objectives.
  • Ensuring production schedules are delivered safely, on time, and in full.
  • Promoting a positive health, safety, quality, and food safety culture across the operation.
  • Monitoring and improving key performance indicators including productivity, waste, efficiency, and labour utilisation.
  • Managing staffing levels and resources to maximise operational performance.
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Working collaboratively with engineering, technical, planning, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operational performance.
  • Managing employee performance, engagement, training, and development activities.
  • Driving accountability and fostering a culture of teamwork, ownership, and high performance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Production Shift Manager, Shift Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership position.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing, FMCG, or food production environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop large operational teams.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety, quality, and operational best practices.
  • Experience managing KPIs and delivering measurable improvements in performance.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on leadership style with a proactive and results-driven approach.
