Working across high-profile projects including data centres, hospitals, commercial buildings and major infrastructure, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a background in BMS and control panel design to strengthen our engineering department and support the delivery of multiple ongoing projects for clients throughout the UK and Europe. You'll play a key role in designing electrical control panels from concept through to manufacture, working closely with project managers, production teams and engineers to ensure projects are delivered accurately and on time. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and bring strong technical knowledge alongside excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical control panels for Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC applications using EPLAN and AutoCAD.
- Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and termination schedules.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and specify electrical components.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, controls engineers and workshop teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during panel manufacture and installation.
- Participate in design reviews and implement improvements where required.
- Develop and maintain design standards, templates and project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement across engineering processes.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- HNC/HND, Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Candidates with significant relevant industry experience will also be considered in place of formal qualifications.
- Previous experience designing BMS or industrial electrical control panels.
- Proficiency in EPLAN.
- Strong understanding of electrical control components including PLCs, relays, contactors, power supplies and associated equipment.
- Experience producing electrical schematics and panel documentation.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and building automation controls.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.
