Location: Within 30 miles of Oxford

Salary: £50K to £80k Per Annum

Hours: Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:30pm, with overtime at time-and-a-half; weekends and bank holidays at double time

Contract: Permanent after 3 months

As part of this ongoing expansion, they are now looking to strengthen their team with the addition of a talented Field Service Engineer. Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Responsibilities: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults in pumps and associated systems. Install, replace, and commission mechanical components such as pumps, bearings, seals, couplings, and valves. Assess pumping systems for efficiency improvements or necessary upgrades. Perform mechanical alignment, balancing, and fitting of pump systems. Work safely in high-pressure and reactive maintenance environments. Assist in refurbishment, retrofits, and system enhancements.
  • Electrical Responsibilities: Inspect, test, and maintain electrical components of pumps, including motors, starters, variable-speed drives, and control panels. Carry out electrical fault diagnosis, repair, and replacement on-site. Wire and connect pumps to power supplies, ensuring compliance with electrical regulations. Collaborate with mechanical teams to deliver fully integrated pump solutions.
  • General Responsibilities: Liaise directly with clients to understand problems and provide on-site solutions. Keep accurate records of work completed, parts used, and system performance. Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working order. Follow all company procedures, health & safety standards, and relevant regulations.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the service of mechanical and electrical components in pumps.
  • Strong fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
  • Knowledge of building services systems: heating, chilled water, air conditioning, and pressure boosting.
  • Experience in reactive maintenance and emergency call-outs.
  • Relevant mechanical/electrical qualifications or apprenticeship preferred.
