Multi Skilled Assembly Fitter Urmston , Manchester Contract length: 3-6 months (min 3 months) Shift Pattern: Days – 7:30am-4pm Mon-Thurs , 7:30-3pm Friday (39hrs min) Rate of pay: £22.00-£23.00p/h (Limited co./Umbrella) Mechanical / machinery build / SPM / fabrications / Assembly I am working with a key global engineering & manufacturing client in Manchester, who specialise in the design, build and supply of bespoke special purpose machinery into packaging and FMCG industries. They are looking for Mechanically biased Assembly Fitters for an initial 3-6 month contract, with the opportunity for that to be extended further workload/project dependant. You will assist with mechanical fitting and assembly activities, working on a day shift (Mon-Fri), with the potential of overtime. As a Multi Skilled Assembly Fitter, you will require to conduct the following duties: Mechanical assembling – small bench work A lot of bench fitting – and bolting it to the machine Reading from mechanical assembly drawings Using hand tools – alan keys, spanners, pliers, drilling etc Problem solver, and report any snagging issues to Management regarding builds Wiring / building control panels, 3-Phase Motors, invertors Reading from electrical drawings / Schematics Ensure all paperwork/job cards are filled out correctly and part lists are correct Meet project and production deadlines The successful Multi Skilled Assembly Fitter will need to have the following attributes: Ideally apprentice trained (Engineering – Level 3) with a mechanical engineering machine build background Experience with special purpose machinery ideally or similar Good experience with LEAN, 5’s and Continuous Improvement principles A strong team player Strong communication skills, with a keen eye for Health, Safety and Quality Your own bench/assembly fitting tools The benefits of this position: Outside IR35 – Limited co. contractors Excellent purpose-built state of the art facilities Excellent and interesting products and engineering work Day shifts working Monday to Friday (OT at standard rate) I am looking to speak to talented Assembly Fitters who are looking for a rewarding and challenging contract position.
