Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum + £600 per month car allowance, half day Friday, flexible start/finish times.

The Role

The role of Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from award through to final account, ensuring effective cost control, risk management, and contract administration. Working closely with project delivery teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors, you will play a key role in maintaining profitability and supporting the successful delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from award through to final account.
  • Administer contracts, negotiate and manage subcontract agreements, and support pre-contract discussions with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and submit applications for payment, interim valuations, variations, final accounts, and subcontractor payment assessments.
  • Monitor project financial performance through cash flow forecasting, monthly WIP reporting, and commercial reporting.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks, including liability management and dispute resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and relevant industry standards.

Candidate

To be successful in your application for this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or a recognised Quantity Surveying qualification.
  • Experience within a project-based environment, ideally delivering engineering or technical projects.
  • A sound understanding of project commercial management, including cost control, valuations, variations, risk management, and contract administration.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
