The Maintenance Engineer Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll work as part of a team of four engineers responsible for maintaining highly automated production equipment across the facility. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
- Diagnosing faults on PLC-controlled production machinery
- Maintaining automated production and packaging equipment
- Working on:
- Conveyor systems
- Automated packaging machinery
- Industrial ovens
- Robotic palletisers
- Material handling equipment
- Supporting continuous improvement and automation projects
- Minimising downtime and improving plant performance
The Ideal Maintenance Engineer
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Shift Engineer
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
- Experience working within a manufacturing, FMCG, food, packaging, logistics or automated production environment
- Knowledge of automated machinery and production equipment
- Mechanical maintenance experience alongside electrical skills
