Welder/ Fitter
Location: Widnes
Salary: £42,000 – £43,000 per year + Performance-Based Pay Rises
Shifts: Monday to Friday – Double Days (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm)

The Role
As part of the maintenance engineering team, you’ll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Repairing and maintaining mechanical systems such as pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Welding and fabricating (MIG & Stick) components and parts for plant machinery – welding is a significant part of this role
- Setting up, aligning, and assembling machinery, moulds, and tampers with precision
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 2 or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Welding
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and fitting
- Must be a competent welder – MIG & Stick welding are essential and form a large portion of this role
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is an advantage
- Proactive, adaptable, and a strong team player with a focus on quality and safety
