Our client designs, manufactures and assembles bespoke robotic automation systems, special purpose machinery, and tooling solutions. They specialise in automation equipment for manufacturing environments, particularly within the automotive sector and manufacture a wide range of equipment including jigs, fixtures and automated assembly equipment. The company boasts a fantastic retention rate of their engineers and can offer a wide variety of projects to work on. Due to growth they are looking to recruit for a Design Engineer with immediate effect.

The Role

  • Producing CAD designs for automation equipment
  • Produce 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for tooling, jigs and fixtures
  • Creating concepts from customer specifications
  • Producing BOMs
  • Attending customer design reviews
  • Manage design delivery against project deadlines

All design work in the role is done with Catia V5. The business also has the opportunity to develop someone into carrying robot simulations as part of the role.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this Design Engineer role you will need:

  • Experience in a design engineering role using a 3D CAD package
  • HNC or above in engineering
  • Experience in the design of either jigs, tools, fixturing or automated assembly systems
