The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of a skilled engineering team alongside other engineers, a team leader, and an apprentice
- Carrying out mechanical fault finding and maintenance on equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, rolling mills, and associated machinery
- Responding to breakdowns efficiently while also following a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule to minimise downtime
- Supporting installation work, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects across the site
- Contributing ideas and improvements to help drive site performance and operational efficiency
- Developing into a potential Team Leader position, with opportunities to take on greater responsibility within projects and site development initiatives
The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A recognised engineering qualification
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
- Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills, with electrical knowledge including work on three‑phase motors
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- A proactive attitude, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ambition to progress into a leadership role in the future
