We are recruiting for an established and growing engineering business that is seeking a Project Engineer to join its dynamic engineering division. This company specialises in the design, development, and global distribution of mounting solutions for professional AV equipment, supporting a wide range of sectors including retail, education, healthcare, and commercial environments.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer, Product Engineer, or Project Engineer who wants to step into a project‑led role while still working closely with design, CAD, and real‑world products.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing multiple engineering/design projects from concept through to delivery
- Acting as the link between customers, sales teams, and design engineers
- Coordinating design work using SolidWorks CAD (reviewing, not producing drawings)
- Ensuring projects are completed on time and to customer specifications
- Reviewing drawings with customers and supporting project meetings
- Supporting development of bespoke products and catalogue solutions
- Suggesting design improvements and ensuring products are fit for purpose
Experience Required:
- 2+ years’ experience in Project Engineering / Mechanical Design / Product Design
- Experience managing or coordinating engineering projects
- Ability to read and understand 3D CAD drawings
- Knowledge of sheet metal, fabrication, or mechanical products
- Strong communication and organisation skills
Desirable:
- Experience using SolidWorks
- Previous design experience (3D modelling)
- Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree – not essential)
