Specialist Support Worker Mental Health Services (Nottingham Area)
Salary: £12.85 per hour
Full-time (37.5 hours) & Part-time roles available
Shifts: Early (07:0014:30) / Late (14:3022:00)
Are you experienced in supporting individuals with complex mental health needs? Do you want to be part of a specialist team transforming lives in the Nottingham area? FitzRoy is recruiting Specialist Support Workers to join our dedicated mental health services.
About The Role
FitzRoys mental health support services provide person-centred care to people stepping down from in-patient settings, residential care, or those in the community whose mental health needs have escalated. Youll be helping individuals live as independently and meaningfully as possible, supporting their rehabilitation, recovery, and community reintegration.
Our Service Users May Have Diagnoses Such As
- Bipolar disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Psychosis
- Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD)
- Eating disorders
- Anxiety and depression
Some individuals may also have forensic backgrounds or be supported under the Mental Health Act (including Care and Treatment Orders or DoLS).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred care using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches
- Support individuals to develop life skills and engage in meaningful daily activities
- Assist with tenancy management and household tasks
- Support safe medication use and budgeting
- Promote and enable participation in social activities and community life
- Provide emotional support and maintain appropriate boundaries
- Respectfully assist with personal care and health-related needs
- Collaborate with families, social workers, and health professionals
- Safeguard service users welfare and report concerns promptly
- Understand and apply principles of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
- Help develop and implement strategies to manage behaviours of concern
