To join United Care Homes as an overseas RGN, candidates must meet the following criteria to ensure smooth integration into the UK healthcare system and to comply with NHS standards.
- NMC Registration: A valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Pin or eligibility to obtain it. Overseas nurses must complete the NMC registration process, including passing the required examinations. Completion of both CBT (Computer-Based Test) and OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) exams, as part of the NMC registration process for international nurses.
- Nursing Qualification: A recognised nursing degree or diploma that aligns with UK nursing standards, typically at least three years of training in adult general nursing. Proof of English proficiency as required by the NMC, through either IELTS Academic: Overall score of 7.0, with no component below 6.5, or OET (Occupational English Test): Minimum grade of B in each testing area (listening, reading, writing, and speaking). At least one year of post-qualification experience in a hospital or clinical setting, ideally within acute care, medical-surgical, or other general nursing fields.
- Compliance and Documentation: A valid work visa or Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), which United Care Homes can assist with for qualified overseas applicants. Police clearance and health screening as part of the immigration and onboarding process. Up-to-date immunisations and TB clearance in line with UK health requirements.
