United Care Homes is seeking dedicated and compassionate Care Workers to join our team. As a Care Worker, you will provide essential support and care to individuals, helping them with daily activities and enhancing their quality of life. This role is perfect for individuals who are naturally empathetic, patient, and committed to making a difference. You will be supporting clients in their own homes or residential care settings, ensuring they feel valued, respected, and empowered to live as independently as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Personal Care: Support clients with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting while respecting their dignity and privacy.
  • Help with Mobility and Physical Assistance: Assist clients with mobility needs, ensuring safe transfers, and helping them stay active and engaged.
  • Administer Medication and Health Monitoring: Assist in the administration of prescribed medications, monitor health conditions, and report any concerns to the supervising healthcare team.
  • Provide Companionship and Emotional Support: Develop trusting relationships, offering companionship and emotional support to promote clients’ mental and emotional well-being.
  • Meal Preparation and Feeding Assistance: Prepare and serve nutritious meals, taking into account clients’ dietary needs, and offer feeding assistance if necessary.
  • Support with Household Tasks: Help with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and shopping, to create a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Document and Report Care Activities: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and any concerns, ensuring continuity and quality of care.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Prior experience in a care role is beneficial but not essential; a willingness to learn and care for others is a must.
  • Relevant certifications in health and social care are advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, respectful, and reliable, with a strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
