At The Races, the business behind dedicated horse racing channel, Sky Sports Racing is looking for a Researcher. Based at Sky Sports in Sky’s West London campus, we work alongside other key areas of the broader Sky business. We have rights to over 650 UK fixtures including Royal Ascot, the St Leger, Chester’s May Festival and the Coral Gold Cup. Internationally we are the home of American, French and Hong Kong racing with fixtures including the Breeders’ Cup, Kentucky Derby, Melbourne Cup Carnival and the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

About the Role

We are looking for a Researcher to be part of the live production team for Sky Sports Racing. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in horse racing and excellent knowledge of the sport. This is a part‑time position (4 days per week) that will be based at Sky in Osterley.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist on the editorial production of the live output of the channel.
  • Collate statistics, trends and past performances for racing on the channel.
  • Create graphics, using templated applications, that are used on the live output.
  • Research editorially relevant analysis clips.
  • Write up notes and information on the day’s racing news for use across the channel and wider Sky Sports.
  • Research and write interview notes for presenters and pundits.
  • Day to day management of graphics systems and sections of running order programme.
  • Full training will be provided.
  • Communicate plans effectively to the production team and others across the business.

  • Keen interest in, and excellent knowledge of, horse racing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, interpret instructions, react quickly to events and meet tight deadlines in all live environments.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills.
  • Computer literate with ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Self‑motivated and adaptable.
  • Strong initiative with an ability to generate ideas.
