Investment Banking & Private Equity Search – Delivery Consultant – £40-55k Base

A search firm operating across Investment Banking, Private Equity, and Hedge Funds is hiring within its Investment Banking and Private Equity team.
Now five years in, the business has established itself as one of the sharper boutiques in the market – £4m NFI this year, four fee earners, and a growing research and ops function. The firm is known for its proactive, delivery-led model, and for competing successfully against other leading names in the space.
The hire sits within the Investment Banking team, working directly with one of the firm’s highest-performing Directors – someone billing £1m+ a year, with strong deal flow across EMEA and North America. The role is centred on delivery and execution, with scope to lead on VP-level mandates and take ownership of search processes from end to end.
The role:
- Delivery-focused position covering Investment Banking and related Infrastructure / Energy mandates
- Execution of searches across M&A, IBD, and Debt Advisory – VP through MD level
- Full exposure to clients and candidates, including shortlisting, progress reports, and direct client interaction
- Opportunity to gradually build sector ownership and originate alongside senior colleagues
- Working as part of a genuinely collaborative team where origination is shared and mandate flow is consistent
Who they’re looking for:
- 18 months–4 years’ experience in search or contingent recruitment (Investment Banking, Legal, Finance, or related markets)
- Strong delivery and headhunting skills – confident with high-level candidate engagement
- Personality-led, articulate, and able to operate credibly at senior level
- Doesn’t need to bring clients – this is about quality execution and market coverage
How they operate:
The firm runs a high-touch, research-driven model – mapping, longlisting, progress reporting – but balanced with a proactive, phone-led culture. They move quickly and maintain high standards, with all mandates run on an exclusive or retained basis. Shortlists are typically delivered within two weeks.
Structure & environment:
- Based in Bank
- Collaborative, delivery-focused, non-corporate environment
- Offices shared with other high-performing teams across Trading and Hedge Funds
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary (c.£40–50k depending on experience)
- Transparent commission: 40p/£1 up to £500k, 50p thereafter
- Example: 10 VP hires = c.£500k in fees = c.£100k commission
- Realistic OTE £85–100k+
