We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Shift Engineer to join our team. As the Shift Engineer, you will provide service and repairs to hotel equipment including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating, and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum guest satisfaction while complying with hotel policies and standards.
What will I be doing as Shift Engineer?
- To carry out corrective and preventative maintenance on all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and audio visual equipment throughout the property.
- To carry out minor repairs to the building fabric, decorative finishes and furnishing and fittings throughout the property.
- Liaise with colleague on preceding shift and check log hand over information and action accordingly.
- Liaise with coordinator or duty manager at the beginning of each shift to confirm attendance.
- To be a member of the investigation team in the event of activation of alarms, such as fire.
- Carry out daily fire, life and safety checks, fulfil daily plant, equipment and building inspections.
- Input all non-Engineering Job log generated work requests reported to you into the engineering Job Log system and record actions and status.
- Record in the handover book all relevant information required for follow up of any outstanding issues or incidents that may have arisen on your shift; carry out hand over procedures with colleague on following shift.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English at work.
- Willingness to have a flexible working pattern to fit in with the needs of the business.
