The Role
As a Bar Head Waitress at Sloane, you will play a central role in delivering an exceptional bar experience, combining refined service with personality, pace, and precision. Your focus will be leading the bar floor, elevating guest engagement, and supporting strong cocktail, spirits, and champagne sales, while guiding junior team members through example and knowledge.
We are a unique property, blending gastro-level precision with warmth, Parisian glamour, and effortless hospitality. Our cocktail bar is intimate, stylish, and purposeful — a space where guests expect impeccable service without formality, confidence without showmanship, and consistency without stiffness.
Our standards are high and uncompromising. Attention to setup, flow of service, intervention at the bar, and guest interaction is essential. Every detail matters, particularly in a space where atmosphere, timing, and intuition define the guest experience.
What distinguishes our Bar Head Waitresses from more junior team members is not just polish, but depth of product knowledge, confidence in guiding guests, and the ability to sell naturally. Strict or theatrical bar service is not our style — instead, we value honest knowledge, calm delivery, and genuine care when recommending cocktails, spirits, champagne, and wines.
You will work closely with the Bar Manager, Assistant Bar Manager, and Supervisors to enhance guest satisfaction, develop the team, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. This role is for someone who wants to be part of something truly distinctive within London’s luxury hospitality scene.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Be a confident, visible presence in the bar, running a section while actively supporting and guiding junior bar staff
- Deliver intuitive, personalised service that reflects the relaxed elegance of our hotel and the individuality of each guest
- Lead by example, setting the standard for professionalism, pace, and guest engagement
- Support and reinforce SOPs, ensuring consistency across all shifts
- Mentor and develop junior team members through strong product knowledge, service technique, and approachability
- Handle guest feedback with care, efficiency, and discretion, resolving issues calmly and proactively
- Build rapport with regular and VIP guests, maintaining the understated excellence expected in our setting
- Support upselling and revenue growth through confident recommendations and thoughtful service
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role within a luxury bar or hospitality environment
- Someone comfortable with both busy and quiet services, maintaining focus, energy, and standards at all times
- Excellent knowledge of cocktails, spirits, champagne, and wines, with a strong interest in French wines
- A natural host — personable, polished, and genuinely guest-focused
- Strong product knowledge with the ability to describe drinks clearly and engagingly to guests and team members
- Confident upselling skills and the ability to adapt service style to different guests and occasions
- Awareness of trends in cocktails, spirits, fashion, art, and culture
- French language skills desirable but not essential
- A self-starter with creativity, drive, and a results-oriented mindset
- Calm under pressure, detail-focused, and consistently aiming for excellence
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Who are we?

Independently run, we seek passionate individuals who take pride in their craft and are motivated to contribute to something special. Our people are ambassadors of the property — trusted to bring personality, precision, and pride to everything they do, while delivering a level of service that is warm, confident, and quietly exceptional.
