We are looking for a passionate, energetic and value‑led Director of Sales to lead and oversee the Sales department. You will own and optimise the product (think hospitality, experiences and community) whilst being responsible for wider business strategy as the company fulfils its growth plans, revenue strategies and enters into new locations. You will need a firm grasp of the London market, particularly the fashion, luxury goods, leisure and entertainment sectors. Reporting directly into the General Manager and working closely with the leadership team, you will act as Ambassador to drive new and existing business. Your role will involve excellent communication skills, building constructive relationships with colleagues and designing, driving and implementing policies across the Rooms and Food & Beverage Divisions, heavily influenced by the DNA of Hôtel Costes in Paris. Your input will be key to building and developing a culture of constant improvement, challenging the status‑quo.
Responsibilities
- Directly manage sales for rooms and private dining functions, ensuring targets are consistently met or exceeded.
- Drive sales and set clear, achievable sales goals.
- Develop and execute a sales plan that aligns with department objectives.
- Prepare and administer the sales budget, executing programs within defined limits as outlined in the budget plan.
- Maintain awareness of current and future competitors’ product, pricing and marketing programs to proactively respond to market conditions.
- Align all sales functions (sales, reservations and digital marketing teams) with financial goals and ensure quality, message and timing.
- Direct and coordinate the sales activities needed for sales, private dining hire, groups and reservations teams to maximise revenues.
- Allocate sales resources and funds strategically to maximise hotel revenue based on current market conditions and forecasts.
- Develop a comprehensive sales strategy for rooms and private dining hire.
- Run sales reports regularly and analyse data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Build and maintain a database of strategic key accounts across all segments and regions, and establish relationships with them.
- Manage Sales Representation companies for the international markets, briefing the companies on financial goals, competitive analyses, key messages, positioning, marketing & communication programs.
- Prepare room proposals, quotations, group proposals, hotel buyout quotes and accommodation and catering contracts to support reservations teams.
- Oversee partnerships with OTAs, activate promotions, manage commission levels and increase visibility to maximise revenue.
- Support the Digital Marketing Executive in overseeing the performance and strategy of the Digital Marketing Agency, including managing paid campaigns (such as Google Ads) and website traffic, ensuring all initiatives are aligned with revenue generation goals.
- Prepare monthly and yearly sales budget, forecasts and sales plans in conjunction with the General Manager.
- Provide monthly financial and performance updates on the owners' reports, including action plans.
- Proactively seek out and establish strategic partnerships within luxury travel, luxury high‑end brands, corporate and entertainment segments to drive sales of rooms and food & beverage, enhancing hotel recognition and guest satisfaction.
- Conduct hotel tours for clients and partners to showcase rooms, food & beverage outlets, amenities and enhance relationship building.
- Create and manage a comprehensive annual plan for familiarisation trips and visits by travel industry partners, ensuring consistent engagement and relationship building.
- Represent the hotel at roadshows, sales calls and travel shows to promote the hotel's main USPs and highlight competitive advantages, resulting in relationship and network building and bringing business leads.
- Attend networking events to prospect new business opportunities and establish relationships with new clients and business partners.
- Oversee the maintenance and update of photography assets to ensure they are current and compelling, contributing to enhanced website traffic and visual appeal.
- Communicate with clients, business partners and the travel industry about new menu launches, in‑house brand activations and special offers to drive traffic and revenue.
Qualifications
- 3‑5 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury property; pre‑opening experience is highly desirable.
- A strong passion for marketing, sales and driving business growth.
- Proficiency in French is preferred, but not essential.
- Flexibility to adapt working hours based on business needs.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
